Internet:
First thing atht you need is Cable Connection Or Dsl. You can’t have wireless connections. It has to be hardwired. If your not sure call your Internet provider and they will be able to tell you.
If you have a router from your modem, You have to have a cable wire from the router to the computer. So you may have wireless connection with your laptop, but while your working you will have to have a CAT5 cable connection to your modem or router from your laptop.
Phone Service:
Sorry Vonage or Other Digital Phone service can be used. Now they will allow some cable companies digital phone service. It must have a MTA and battery backup. Time Warner Cable Company is one Cable provider that will meet this requirement.
You will have to inquire when your hired. You may have to go back to your local phone company for basic phone service for this position.
Headsets-
You have to have headsets that have a noise cancelling mic on it. You can pick these up at computer stores, Radio Shack or online.
Home Office:
Make sure it’s comfy there. You will be spending a lot of time there and you want to be comfortable.
Limited interruptions. you will want to block out home noise as much as possible. No one wants to hear kids fighting in the background while conducting business.
Computer requirements
You can read all about the requirements on their website, but basically you need to have it up to date with all the patches, Up to date virus protections. And at least 1 GB of RAM. You have to have a sound card that will allow you to hear things on the computer such as training. And you have to have a firewall. All of these are easy to attain, most computers are more than 1 GB RAM.
You have to be able to work at least 25-30 hours a week. Some jobs you can get 40 hours a week. You may have to work nights, and weekends. But mostly you can make your own hours but you must be available during days, and some weekends. They don’t have weekends only or only night shifts. They also don’t have Overnight shifts at this time.
