It’s hard to find the legitimate data entry jobs from home when reading over the ads, but here are some ways that you can look and find the legitimate jobs easier.

Red Flags:

Do they want money for you to work for them? Legitimate jobs don’t ask for money upfront for you to order material. They may require you to pay for background checks, but materials? Almost never. So if they are asking you to purchases something – you may want to move on and keep looking.

They don’t have a complete mailing address. If it is a legitimate business they will have a mailing address that you could find in Google Maps – now not all companies will have the street address – but most should have it. Anyone can open a PO Box and have a business. But companies will have the street address. Although they may have their mailing address to the PO Box, you should be able to find a street address on the site.

They don’t have a phone number listed on the site. Legitimate companies will have phone numbers that you can contact them.  Everything should be listed on the contact page.

Before sending personal information to a website, do your homework., Check out the company by doing a google search and seeing what other people have to say about the company.

Skills that you will need:

You will have to have certain skills to do data entry jobs from home. You will have to have accurate computing skills. You will have to know how to operate the computer and save and open and modify files. You will probably be on a deadline with your work, and you will want to be sure you are proficient with a computer.

You will be kind of like self employed. You will need to be disciplined to be able to complete your jobs on time. Sine you are not punching a time clock, this can be easy to procrastinate and then you won’t be able to get your assignments completed.

You will need to be able to type quickly. Speed with typing will help you get your job done sooner, and you won’t get frustrated with all the typing.

You will need patience to do the job, because you will be doing a lot of typing and maybe some of it will be boring, and you will still have to do it. You will need all these skills to be efficient with your data entry at home jobs so that you don’t miss deadlines.

You can find data entry jobs online by searching places like monster.com or careerbuilder.com and look for data entry, warning if you search these places be sure that you spend the time to weed out the scams; there are usually quite a few scammers on there just looking for your money.
