One way to earn money from home, is to do it online. This is usually never a get rich quick scheme, but rather a long process that takes many hours of work. There are several ways that you can earn from home online

Build your own websites – you make money from selling advertising, or having links on your site that you get paid for being an affiliate.

Selling your items on places like EBay, this way you will have to buy and sell items, it also includes shipping the products to the customers.

Writing- There are many sites that you can write for and earn money. Some places are Associated Content, Helium and many others.

Online Surveys – You answer short questioners and get paid to do that. You only get paid if you follow directions correctly.

Freelancing – you can do a variety of things when you freelance.

Customer Service – You can do customer service over the internet, usually you will need a phone to do this also.

These are just some of the ways that you can make money online and earn money from home. All of these will take time. There are only a very few people who will get lucky and hit the jackpot and find the pot of gold but there aren’t many quick pots of gold, most will take a lot of work to earn money.

If you can use a computer you will be able to find many jobs that you can do from home, which includes blogging, writing, and maybe even web design.  You may be good at typing and live near a college where you can type reports and projects for students.

Tutoring: Most children do need tutors in one subject at school this can be done at home also with just a few hours a week.

Cleaning, manual labor, yard work: People are always looking for someone reliable to do these jobs. These types of businesses don’t take a lot of cash to get started and can be very  profitable.

Daycare: These can be ran out of your home, don’t forget about the parents that work odd hours, they are the ones that have the harder time finding babysitters for their shifts.

Selling on EBay: This is one way that you can make extra money, almost everything that gets listed on Ebay if priced correctly sells.  This is one of the most inexpensive ways to sell items to the most people.  If you have a big item you can sell on Craigslist if there is one in your town.

Buying cars cheap, fixing, cleaning them up and reselling at a profit: Many states do have a limit on how many you can do without getting a dealer’s tag but if you can do mechanical work, this could be the business for you.

Pets: Pooper Scooper is a hot business right now, it may not sound pleasant to do, but it does pay well. Doggy Daycare is great business if you have fenced in yard and love animals. Can you train people how to manage their pets?  Dog obedience classes are always hot. If you like pets, take the training class from the Red Cross and then teach others how to handle Pet First Aid.  It can pay off for you, and allow you the freedom to work just a few hours a week instead of fulltime.

2. You may need to get insurance for your business in case of accidents. If you are cleaning alone, you may still want to talk to your insurance company to see if it’s required. Many commercial cleaning jobs will require you to have insurance before you start to clean for them.

How to Find jobs:

• Word of mouth is the easiest way to find work. Ask around – Tell friends that you are starting your own cleaning service and see who they know that could use your services.
• Fax a copy of your flyer to businesses or apartment complexes for commercial cleaning jobs.
• For residential jobs, put your flyers in stores and bullitin boards
• List your new business on Craigslist.
• Go door to door and put your flyer on homes in the area.
• Hand out business cards to everyone that you know.

Once you get a few jobs you will quickly add more work. It doesn’t take long to build this business to the point where you will have more work than you can handle.

Tips to help you:

• Make a check list of things that you want to clean at each place, this way you will know what you need to do, and to ensure that you complete each job. You can do this on your computer. Go room by room and make a detailed list of what you will do in each room. We used to do vacant apartments and we had our checklist for each room of what needed done. Anything that wasn’t on our checklist that we had to do, we charged more.
• Pricing is different in different area’s. You can look online and see what the going rate is, or ask people that use cleaning services what they pay. Call other cleaning companies and ask for an over the phone quote.
  
• It’s your decision to charge by the hour or by the job. We found charging by the job made us more money. Some jobs you may work harder and feel like your losing, but many jobs are quick and easy and you can breeze right through them.
  
• Show your customers your checklist, you can make it part of your package that you give them with a contract of what is due to you at the end of the work that you do.
• Make your own Invoices and Contracts on the computer to save money,  You can download free templates from Microsoft Office Online and customize them. They don’t need to be fancy to start.
  
• Keep track of your expenses, even mileage for your taxes. Consult a tax professional to see what you need to keep up with.  One Great software to use would be Quick books. This will not only keep up with your Tax receipts, but you can also use it to create invoices and simple contract.
